The Prime Minister, the Minister of Transportation and the Minister of Health held a consultation today towards the end of the isolation obligation in hotels, at the end of which a decision was made to further restrict the entry of Israelis into Israel.

The decision that was made leads to the fact that starting next week, only 200 Israelis will be able to enter the country every day.

Currently, about 2,000 Israelis can return to Israel under the Exceptions Committee, but the new decision reduces the number of those entering Israel by 90%, and only urgent monetary cases will be able to enter Israel.

The government hopes to find a technological solution that will enable the enforcement of the isolation, among the issues that have arisen - home isolation with electronic handcuffs and home isolation with cellular surveillance and frequent visits by inspectors.

The consequences of the decision are that many flights of all Israeli and foreign airlines will be canceled, including new immigrant flights.

The Ministry of Transportation is calling on Israelis who are considering leaving the country in the coming days to take the decision into account and understand that there may be a situation in which they will not be able to return to Israel.

It is currently estimated that there are at least a few tens of thousands of Israelis who are abroad and trying to return to Israel. There is currently no expectation of their return and it is unclear when and how the sky will open and they will be able to return to their families and homes in Israel.
