An investigation conducted by the IDF regarding the intrusion of the young Israeli woman into Syrian territory was published tonight (Monday) and reveals that the fence she crossed did indeed warn of contact, but the observer was unable to locate the young woman.
According to the investigation, the young woman arrived at Majdal Shams by bus in the evening.
She wandered around the area for about two hours.
On the assessments, she knows the area well.
She crossed into Syria through an old, inductive fence.
150 m from where she crossed the fence ends, so she could pass through an area without a fence, but apparently she did not see the fence ending.
Because the fence is inductive, a warning was given to touch it.
It was also reported that the observer began scanning the area according to her supervisor, in accordance with the instructions, which could not be specified, but in practice, since she was looking for intrusion from Syria into Israel, and not from Israel to Syria, she did not see the young woman crossing.
