Rap made Jay-Z extremely rich.

Now Beyoncé's husband is also stepping up as an entrepreneur - and is getting a global corporation on board.

Munich - The US rapper Jay-Z is currently making one deal after the next.

Now the husband of the R&B diva Beyoncé has sold fifty percent of his shares in the well-known champagne brand Armand de Brignac to the French luxury goods group LVMH.

LVMH already has the champagne brands Moët & Chandon or Dom Pérignon in its portfolio.

As part of the deal, LVMH will also take over global sales for Armand de Brignac, LVMH manager Philippe Schaus announced on Monday.

A purchase price was not mentioned.

Just over a week ago the rap mogul founded a Bitcoin fund together with Twitter boss Jack Dorsey.

They wanted to make Bitcoin the "currency of the Internet", it said.

In January, Jay-Z had also announced investments in cannabis companies and set up a specialized investment fund.

The cannabis manufacturer Left Coast is now part of his empire, and he is the “Chief Brand Strategist” of the hash specialist Caliva.

Jay-Z: First rap billionaire in history

The noble champagne press Armand de Brignac presented Jay-Z for the first time in 2006 in his music video "Show me what you got".

In 2014, the rapper finally took over the premium brand with the characteristic ace of spades on the belly of the bottle.

The singer, whose real name is Shawn Corey Carter, has gathered the necessary money for his investments - with great success.

In the industry, Carter is considered the first rap billionaire in history.
