Tehran-SANA

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, Ali Khamenei, reaffirmed his country's commitment to the nuclear agreement as long as the other parties abided by it and that it will move forward in accordance with its interests and needs in this regard.

Khamenei said upon his meeting with the Chairman and members of the Assembly of Experts of the Leadership today: “We will not retreat from our logical positions regarding the nuclear agreement, and we are determined to acquire nuclear capabilities commensurate with the country's needs. The limit of enrichment in Iran will not be 20 percent, but rather we may raise it to 60 percent if Necessity required. ”

Khamenei considered that Iran's need for enrichment is necessary, and therefore nuclear power plants will be one of the most important energy sources in the near future thanks to the generation of less expensive, less polluted and safer energy, describing the law of the strategic initiative to abolish the embargo on Iran well and must be implemented accurately.

The Leader of the Iranian Islamic Revolution also reiterated that Iran does not seek to possess nuclear weapons, indicating that the Americans and the West tolerate nuclear weapons as a way to kill civilians and innocent people, while Iran rejects it, criticizing at the same time the arrogant and unfair literature used by the United States and some European countries against Iran.

The assistant of the Iranian president, head of the Atomic Energy Organization, Ali Akbar Salehi, confirmed yesterday that his country will stop implementing its obligations under the additional protocol to the nuclear agreement, starting from February 23.

It is noteworthy that the International Atomic Energy Agency announced yesterday that a "temporary solution" had been reached with Iran for a period of three months, allowing for the continuation of inspections of its nuclear facilities, which it described as "satisfactory".
