The Weilheim district court sentenced a 28-year-old Romanian to a fine of 4200 euros.

The man had threatened his girlfriend.

Peißenberg -

With the words "Do you want to die?" And "I will kill you" the defendant had expressed his frustration over the breach of loyalty by his girlfriend over the phone in July of last year.

She had cheated on him with a work colleague.

“But I loved her and absolutely wanted her back,” said the Romanian, who spoke good German and lived in Peißenberg at the time of the crime.

Defendant does not want to remember at first

At first he didn't really want to remember threatening his girlfriend at the time.

He claimed that she might have misunderstood that.

"I'm dying without you," he said.

In response to further probing inquiries from presiding judge Karin Beuting, the defendant made a different statement.

"If I said it that way, I didn't mean it that way," he said.

But it remains a threat, so the judge.

The friend testified that she was afraid after the first threat that day.

She went to the police immediately.

In front of the police building, she received another call from the defendant in which he threatened her with death.

In the courtroom, she played the voice memo.

It could be heard in Romanian.

After playing a voice memo, the 28-year-old is remorseful

"Do we need an interpreter to get this translated correctly?" Asked the judge.

But the defendant now regretfully confirmed that he had actually threatened his girlfriend with death with this sentence.

The young woman said that her ex-boyfriend had asked her to withdraw the criminal complaint.

And for a good reason.

The man is on double probation until 2022, so he was not allowed to get into debt.

Therefore, the public prosecutor also applied for four months' imprisonment.

The defense attorney, who apologized to the young woman on behalf of his client, pleaded for a fine.

The defendant has no relevant criminal record and he was in a state of emergency.

The fine that Beuting imposed is equivalent to four months' salary.

Beuting showed mercy: “What saved you from prison is that you have left the witness alone since then.” The couple have lost contact.
