(CNN Spanish) -

After the scandal unleashed by the so-called "VIP vaccination" of the Ministry of Health of Argentina with vaccines against covid-19, the Government hurries new measures, such as the arrival of one million Chinese vaccines - from this week — and promises of greater transparency to try to put the incident behind him, which cost the head of that portfolio, Ginés González García, his job.

But, in the meantime, names of those who would have received the vaccine with this modality continue to be known.

In addition to the journalist Horacio Verbistky, who was the one who unleashed the scandal by revealing his own anomalous vaccination, the first names that were known were those of the presidents of the Foreign Relations committees of the Senate and Deputies, Jorge Taiana, and Eduardo Valdés, who ended up excluded from the presidential entourage for the visit to Mexico that Alberto Fernández began this Monday.

In a statement, the legislators, aged 70 and 65 respectively, admitted to having been vaccinated, but denied having had privileges.

They alleged that they received the vaccines at the Posadas Hospital, after being invited to Mexico, and that their case "applies to the priority category of strategic personnel: any person who performs management and / or conduction functions and strategic functions necessary for the adequate operation of the State, as established by the Strategic Plan for vaccination against covid-19 in Argentina.

The explanation does not seem to have convinced the president because they did not accompany him on his trip.

Other names that were linked to the "VIP Vaccination"

Another who confirmed having received the vaccine was the union leader Hugo Moyano, 70, but, like all those mentioned, he denies having had privileges.

The leader of truck drivers explained that he runs two social works (the medical insurances run by the unions) and that is why he, his wife and one of their children were vaccinated at the Antarctica Sanatorium, because they all work and are related to that health center.

Another official who was vaccinated is the Minister of Economy, Martín Guzmán, 38 years old.

Two high-ranking sources in the Argentine government confirmed it to CNN, although they denied that it was related to this scandal.

They pointed out that he was inoculated since he is an official who must travel and participate in various meetings, such as those of the G20, and negotiations, such as those of the International Monetary Fund.

In the last IMF mission that visited Argentina, one of the members contracted the virus.

As the hours go by, different alleged parallel registries of vaccinated people have also circulated, including businessmen, politicians and personalities, many of them of age to receive the vaccine, according to current eligibility criteria, but who have failed to comply with the necessary steps to receive it.

Some have remained silent, but others, such as former president Mauricio Macri or television presenter Marcelo Tinelli, denied it through their Twitter accounts.

New minister, new measures

Carla Vizzotti, the new Minister of Health, has already begun to give details of how her management will be and has focused on leaving this scandal behind.

He also confirmed that she has not yet been vaccinated.

Although she recognized these vaccinations as a "mistake", she denied having been aware when they were carried out, that there was a "VIP vaccination" and that the portfolio that she now leads has separated 3,000 doses for her discretionary use.

«From the Ministry of Health we are going to strengthen transparency because we have the traceability of vaccines, we have the system of who gets vaccinated and not vaccinated, and we also have the possibility of strengthening that through a much more specific mechanism, more concrete and, clearly, disseminate it regularly because it is a subject of great sensitivity, "said Vizzotti in an interview with Radio Con Vos, on Monday morning.

In that sense, this Monday the national government approved the acquisition of 20 million cards to "have a personal and non-transferable document that allows certification of vaccination and that verifies that the appropriate scheme has been completed, helping to reduce programmatic errors and facilitating registration ", as published this Monday in the Official Gazette.

Sinopharm vaccines start arriving this week

In addition, the minister confirmed that "this week we will begin to receive this million doses" - announced at the weekend - of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine, whose emergency use has just been authorized in Argentina.

In addition, he maintained that a government envoy is in Moscow to coordinate the new deliveries of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine and that they expect 580,000 more doses of the CoviShield vaccine (which AstraZeneca produces in India) by the beginning of March, among other actions. tending to mitigate the effects of the pandemic.

Vizzotti met this morning with the Chief of Staff, Santiago Cafiero, with whom she was discussing, among other issues, how the team that accompanies her will be.

Although Vizzotti confirmed that a large part of the team that works with former minister González García will continue with her, they have not yet defined who will support her in the management.

Thus, the Government hopes to leave behind the scandal of the so-called "VIP vaccination", although more names of supposedly vaccinated are still known, which continue to generate controversy and remind us of the Peruvian "vaccinate" scandal.
