How vital are the Erdingers?

And where does it hurt?

The annual health report published by the District Office, the Health Region + and the State Office for Health answers these and other questions about the health of citizens in the district.

Erding - Currently only one disease dominates humanity - the Corona virus.

But how is the district and its almost 140,000 inhabitants doing otherwise in terms of health?

Where are the defenses strong?

Where is he weak?

Answers to these questions are provided by the annual health report that the District Office, the Health Region + and the State Office for Health have published on the basis of data from the State Statistical Office.

The aim is "to record and evaluate the health condition and care of the citizens and thus to determine the respective need for action", explains authority spokeswoman Nicole Tietze.

District of Erding: Number of deaths per 100,000 inhabitants “well below” the Bavarian value

The first medical check shows: "The state of health of the population in the Erding district is consistently high," diagnosed Tietze.

District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer writes in his doctor's letter: “The results show that our district is still well cared for.

On this basis, we can continue to work and continue to provide our district citizens with preventive and health-promoting offers in the future. "

Erding has a good immune system.

This is due to the comparatively high proportion of young people and a lower old-age quotient than the Bavarian average.

However, the first value goes down while the second goes up.

Nevertheless, the statisticians come to the conclusion: The number of deaths per 100,000 inhabitants has been “well below” the Bavarian value for years.

This was last 824, Bavaria-wide 1039. In the Munich region only Freising has an even lower mortality (809.1).

The average life expectancy for women is 83.6 years and for men 80 years.

Life expectancy has doubled over the past 100 years.

It continues to rise - because of medical advances by around two years of life per decade.

Erding district: bottom of the list for births

The numbers of hospital stays after a heart attack (Erding: 188 / Bavaria: 235) or stroke (Erding 361 / Bavaria: 427) are below average, based on 100,000 inhabitants.

The trend continues to decline here.

Overall, the number of people who have to be treated as inpatients in a hospital has also decreased slightly since 2013.

With 20,123 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, Erding is below the Bavarian value (22,544).

In the airport region, only Freising is better off (20 050).

In contrast to the national average, the number of people in need of care is small, but an upward trend can be seen.

For every 100,000 inhabitants there are 2,131, and throughout Bavaria there are 3,080 caregivers.

At the other end of the life scale, Erding is a straggler: for every 1,000 women between the ages of 15 and 44 there are 54.2 births - bringing up the rear in the region.

In Ebersberg it is 55.6, in Fürstenfeldbruck 60.7 and in Bavaria 55.1.

It is all the more sad that the infant deaths per 1000 live births are 3.4 in Erding, more than in any of the neighboring districts (Ebersberg: 2.1; Freising: 2.9; Fürstenfeldbruck: 3.2; Bavaria: 2.8).

The analysis of the health report: Pregnant women should be more closely involved in care, unwanted and high-risk pregnancies should be avoided (if possible) and tobacco and alcohol consumption should be combated during pregnancy.

District of Erding: More and more children are overweight

Erding is also the front runner in terms of road traffic injuries: 571 per 100,000 inhabitants.

There are 544 throughout Bavaria and only 399 in Fürstenfeldbruck. After all, the number is falling.

The health report also touches on taboo subjects.

This includes suicides.

For every 100,000 people in Erding, the last 11.9 suicides occurred, which is the lowest value in the surrounding area and is also below the Bavarian average.

However, it has increased slightly but steadily since 2009.

Speaking of gaining weight: the problem is growing more and more children.

Three percent of prospective first graders were most recently classified as obese, in 2011 it was only 2.2 percent.

The danger: Being overweight in childhood promotes chronic diseases.

Good news: the number of newly detected cancers has been falling continuously since 2012.

The last figure was 303 per 100,000 inhabitants (Bavaria: 323).

There is a gap in Erdinger health care: On the one hand, every pharmacy serves more people from year to year - on average from 4,777 in 2015 to 5295 four years later - and, on the other hand, the number of citizens per outpatient doctor is steadily decreasing - from 630 593 within this period.
