“End station: Jagdfeldring” could be the name of the tram line 21 in future.
The district is considering an extension to hair.
Haar - With the tram from the Olympiapark via Marienplatz, Max-Weber-Platz and Trudering to Haar.
End station: Jagdfeldring.
Recently there have been considerations to extend tram line 21, which currently runs to Berg am Laim.
The district committee discussed this idea yesterday - and it doesn't seem so absurd.
The proposal to extend the tram came from the SPD in the Munich city council and the district social democrats also seem to be impressed.
In an application, parliamentary group leader Florian Schardt asks to contact the state capital.
They are soon planning a feasibility study for the extension of the tram on Wasserburger Landstrasse towards Haar.
There, according to the wish of the SPD parliamentary group, the train should run in a loop through the heavily populated district of Jagdfeld.
District Administrator: "A project worth considering"
That the idea is being taken seriously in Munich is shown by the fact that the extension of tram line 21 was included in the update of the Munich local transport plan in the highest category A.
Means: The city council assesses the line as useful in terms of traffic and recommends it for implementation.
The district also wants to include the extension in the current market value analysis of 23 public transport connections.
"I am of the opinion that this is a project worth considering," said District Administrator Christoph Göbel (CSU).
According to the district administration, the extension could be included in the investigation of the Intraplan Consult GmbH office.
If there is a high demand there, the district could start planning accordingly on its own initiative.
Extension even to the motorway?
The advantage of the 7.7 kilometer extension would be - in addition to the additional public transport - a connection between the districts of Trudering-Riem, Berg am Laim, Au-Haidhausen and the community of Haar without having to change trains.
Markus Büchler (Greens) suggested extending the tram not only to the Jagdfeldring, but also to the A 99 for commuters. “It's not far away, only about one and a half kilometers,” said Büchler.
“In this way, the entire municipal area could be developed.” The district administrator included the proposal in the unanimous decision to consider the extension.
