Geretsried - The festival for International Women's Day on March 8th cannot take place this year due to the Corona restrictions.

“Instead of simply skipping it, we women celebrate without a party”, write Hannah Schreyer and Franziska Walter from the coordination office Active Integration in the sponsoring association for youth and social work (TVJA).

For the period from March 8th to March 31st, the coordination office organized some offers together with the district management.

Articles about Geretsried women are published on the internet on Mondays under the motto “Let's talk women”.

“In our podcast series we introduce impressive women from different parts of the city in different life situations and with different origins.

The link to the podcasts can be found on the TVJA's social media channels (Facebook: Integration Aktiv, Instagram: Integration.aktiv_geretsried).

There is also a handicraft exhibition in the Quartierstreff in Stein.

It is supposed to bring hidden talents to the public: What is everything done in the living room?

You can admire it in the shop windows.

"Depending on the pandemic situation, the exhibition is presented to you to pass by or a limited number of visitors can be visited in the neighborhood meeting place."

There will also be literature, from March 8th to 12th.

“We want to give female writers a voice and feminist topics a stage,” announce the initiators.

“To do this, we will present you a book every day for a week that we have shaped or simply liked.” The works are also presented on social media channels.

The quiz organized by TVJA also revolves around women - and anti-discrimination.

What percentage of world wealth are in the hands of women?

Since when have women in Germany been allowed to go to work without their husbands' permission?

And could a woman with the character of a Barbie doll survive?

"We have collected questions and answers that can surprise, shock or open eyes."
