A member of the European Parliament for Czechia, Katrjina Konichna, confirmed that the coalition led by the Saudi regime bears responsibility for the killing of thousands of civilians in Yemen, noting that the bombing of populated residential areas, markets, hospitals, farms and infrastructure in this country is a serious violation of international humanitarian law.

"The war being waged on Yemen has caused the worst humanitarian crisis in the world," Konichna said in an article published by the Aidnes website today, explaining that about 80 percent of Yemen's population, or more than 24 million people, are now in need of humanitarian aid, including 12 million children.

Konichna pointed out that the Saudi regime is committing war crimes in Yemen with the support of Western countries, especially the United States and Britain, which provide weapons to it in its attacks on Yemeni civilians, calling on the Czech government also to realize that it is part of the existing problem where Czech weapons and military materials were sent to Saudi Arabia at a value. 165 million euros from 2010 to 2018.
