The child Muhammad Khair Hamza, from the Shaheed Jaafar Nassif Basic Education School in Lattakia, was assaulted by his colleagues during the break between classes, and he was subsequently transferred to the Martyr Hamza Nofal National Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgical work to remove the spleen that had been severely damaged.

The director of education, Imran Abu Khalil, confirmed in a statement to SANA's correspondent today that the treatment of the fifth-grade student Hamza is being followed up by the directorate, indicating that after the accident was examined, the school principal was relieved of his duty.

Abu Khalil explained that the penalties of the recorded warning were directed to the educational supervisor in the school and to the alternates in the school yard during the break, pointing out that the necessary care was provided, the necessary treatment and medicine was provided for the student and the necessary medical assistance was provided until he passed the danger stage.

In turn, Dr. Siham Makhoul, Director of the National Hospital in Lattakia, stated that the child was admitted to the emergency department yesterday, and after his examination, a surgical operation was performed to remove the spleen that had suffered damage and bleeding resulting from the injury that required surgical intervention.

The treating physician, Dr. Hammam Jabri, confirmed that the child's condition is stable after passing the danger stage and will remain under medical observation.
