The government convened tonight (Tuesday) to discuss imposing restrictions on gatherings over the coming weekend, which will be Purim, for fear of an accelerated spread of the corona virus.
Earlier, the Corona commissioner, Prof. Nachman Ash, said that he would recommend the imposition of a night curfew on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from 8:30 PM to 5:00 AM, in order to prevent mass participation in Purim parties.
At the same time, the ministry is examining with the Attorney General whether it is possible to exclude cultural events scheduled these days, after the industry returns to activity.
The ministry planned to ask the ministers to discuss this at a cabinet meeting yesterday, but the discussion on the issue was postponed to today, just before the celebrations.

At the beginning of the cabinet meeting, Netanyahu said that the discussion on continuing to open education will begin today, but the decisions will only be made after Purim.
At the beginning of the meeting, Defense Minister Bnei Gantz expressed support for imposing restrictions on Purim.
"I think we need to tighten the restrictions imposed on us on Purim. Maybe on Purim there will be a closure but on Passover there will be order. We need to avoid wide gatherings. There is agreement on this matter. "Education for all ages in green and yellow cities," he said.
He thanked Interior Minister Aryeh Deri for announcing the opening of the Taba crossing for the entry of returning Israelis from Sinai.
"Some of them want to return to the territory of the State of Israel. In Sinai, there is also a security risk, and it should be seen that the people who arrive immediately enter isolation," he said.

Meanwhile, Gantz also sharply criticized Netanyahu, amid reports that Israel is considering transferring vaccines to other countries for diplomatic gestures.
"The fact that Netanyahu trades in vaccines of Israeli citizens who were paid with their tax money without account, shows that he thinks he is running a kingdom and not a state," Ganz said, calling for the issue to be put on the agenda.
"Such a move requires discussion and approval. Only an urgent security, political or medical need can justify such a move and Netanyahu must present it to the public or at least approve it in the relevant forums."
