Mesraba Center serves auditors of different age groups, especially children, women and chronic patients, with quality services such as dental treatment, according to the director of the center and the head of the chronic diseases program in the Damascus Countryside Health Directorate, Dr. Muhammad Eid Tabarnin.

Dr. Tabernin pointed out in a statement to SANA that the Mesraba Center is one of the first health centers to return to provide services to the people of the region after the liberation of the town from terrorism in 2018, indicating that in conjunction with the work of rehabilitation of infrastructure and repair of damage, the center began its work and expanded its services over time to include vaccines for children. And reproductive health services for women, and programs for diabetes, hypertension, asthma and others.

According to its director, the center provides free drug treatment to chronic patients, and there are currently 1,300 patients on a monthly basis, according to a program for each patient who stays continuously, explaining that the center serves diabetics in Misraba along with the people of a director, Beit Sawa and Harasta, and in the event that any medicine is interrupted, it is provided in coordination with NGOs.

Reducing the number of children dropping out of the vaccine has been one of the priorities of the work of the Misraba Center since its return to work, according to Reem Shaaban, who indicated that the mobile and fixed vaccination teams have carried out several campaigns since 2018 until now to reach the largest number of dropouts, including those between the ages of 5 and 11 years Noting that the percentage of dropouts has become very low, the center provides routine vaccination for children according to the national vaccination program every Wednesday, and it is expected that 1177 children under five years of age and 260 children under one year will benefit from it this year.

From the dental treatment department at the center, Dr. Nasser Alia said that the department is equipped with the latest medical equipment and provides comprehensive and free treatment services for patients that benefit the people of Misraba and Zamalka.

Umm Omar came to the health center to obtain diabetes medicine and to visit the internal diseases department of the center, and she is one of the people of Mesraba who were displaced due to terrorism to other villages and said: After the liberation of Eastern Ghouta, I went straight back to my house and repaired it.

The Rural Health Directorate has continued to restore and rehabilitate health centers in Eastern Ghouta since the liberation of their towns in 2018, when the number of rehabilitated centers has so far reached 32.

In addition to restoring damaged centers, the Damascus Countryside Directorate has allocated mobile clinics in areas where there are no health centers, in addition to prefabricated centers pending the rehabilitation of the fixed centers.

From the eastern Douma center, Adeeb al-Akhras, a resident of Douma who came to give his daughter the vaccine, the services that are well provided, appreciating the efforts of the health sector workers who restored the center’s work as soon as the town was liberated, along with emergency medical points, especially since the people of the region faced great difficulties during the terrorists ’presence in securing them Medical services and medicine.

Hanan Maslamania, a resident of Douma, also points to the difference that the townspeople sensed upon its liberation in terms of health services, and said: “We lived great suffering during the presence of terrorists and their sabotage of health institutions while today all my family members go to the center to receive free services.”

The center focused its services on monitoring and managing cases of malnutrition and vaccine dropouts, as the nutrition officer at the center, Hana Al-Hassan, stated that the nutritional surveillance service targets children under five years of age while managing moderate and severe cases of malnutrition, pointing to work to bridge the gap of children who drop out of vaccination, which has widened during the period of terrorism.
