The planned mast for the authorities' radio on Maria-Antonien-Weg in Murnau is pushing residents to the barricades.

The elevated tank location is only intended as an interim solution.

But residents fear that the construction will stay there permanently.

  • There is resistance against the planned radio mast on Maria-Antonien-Weg in Murnau.

  • Residents are afraid that the location at the elevated tank is not just an interim solution.

  • You have already hired a lawyer on the matter.

Murnau

- The processes are similar, across the country.

As soon as a radio mast is to be erected somewhere, resistance rises among the residents.

This is no different with a project on Maria-Antonien-Weg in Murnau.

As reported, an approx. 25 to 30 meter mast for the digital authority radio is to be erected there.

Initially provisional.

However, it cannot be ruled out that the construction will be permanently placed on the site of the municipal works.

Requests to speak in the municipal council

Meeting of the market town council, 6 p.m., culture and conference center.

Several residents of Maria-Antonien-Weg sit in the audience and speak out during the citizens' questionnaire.

Dr.

Bernd Werner, for example.

He speaks of a "disfigurement par excellence".

And Eva Loos emphasizes: “The citizens are appalled that they were not involved in any way.

That makes you very upset. ”There is a fear that the mast will remain there.

Residents not involved

Werner also cares.

In an email to the daily newspaper, he complained that the residents were “not informed at all, let alone taken into account”.

“Around 300 to 400 people are affected within a radius of 250 meters.” Werner also points out that the Hochried crèche and the senior citizens' home on the Garhöll are nearby.

Apart from that, the Maria-Antonien-Weg is part of the “König Ludwig” tourist hiking trail, and the elevated reservoir is entered on the Murnau hiking map as a lookout point into the moss and towards the Zugspitze.

In a letter of protest to Mayor Rolf Beuting (ÖDP / Bürgerforum) and the local council, there is also talk of a decrease in the value of the existing property.

It is "not at all visible" why the radio with the authorities should not be possible in existing areas such as the train station, the police station and the accident clinic.

You can see: it is seething.

A security problem

Mayor Rolf Beuting (ÖDP / Bürgerforum) tried to smooth things over during the citizens' questionnaire.

The interim location is necessary because the State Office of Criminal Investigation (LKA) has found "serious supply gaps".

"Therefore we have a security problem with the rescue services," said the town hall chief.

According to his own information, he forwarded all letters to the LKA - with the request to get in touch with the residents.

The State Criminal Police Office has been commissioned to set up a nationwide network for digital public authority radio throughout Bavaria.

Several posts are being examined

"The town council did not make it easy for itself," emphasized the town hall chief.

“It is clear to us that this is causing unrest and concern.” As early as January, the municipal council decided to have various locations checked for radio and emissions.

These are: the elevated water tank on Maria-Antonien-Weg, the site of the police inspection, the fire station, the old festival area, the accident clinic, the south train station, the James-Loeb monument in Hochried.

The specialist Hans Ulrich (Munich) will analyze the individual points.

"Then it will be up to us to choose the best location," said Beuting.

According to him, the report should be available in summer, at the latest in autumn.

“Then we have a basis for discussion.” Beuting was unable to say when the temporary solution will be installed.

“That depends on the LKA.” Regarding the accusation of insufficient public participation, the mayor said: “A location must first be found so that we know which citizens are to be involved.” It is important to weigh up the rights of those affected and the security situation.

Demands of the residents

Resident Werner is skeptical.

According to him, the residents expect the municipality to have insight into the results with regard to the technical, economic and ecological assessment of the alternative locations and a comprehensible, impartial decision-making process.

In addition, they want sensible alternatives to be examined fairly and additional pollution for children, residents and senior citizens to be absolutely avoided.

It is also important to the residents that such a radio mast may not be upgraded with additional functions later.

Lawyer turned on

The residents - Werner speaks of 45 households - do not want to give up.
