The obligation to insulate in hotels for returnees from abroad was abolished yesterday at midnight, but today (Tuesday) it seems that the hotels will return already this week, and maybe even today.
The impending decision comes after the prime minister and chairman of the constitution committee, MK Yaakov Asher (Torah Judaism), discussed and apparently, in the near future, a technological solution will be formulated that will enable the enforcement of domestic isolation for those returning from abroad.
Meanwhile, returnees from yesterday evening until now have been released for home isolation, as have all returnees from abroad who stayed in hotels and were released for home isolation last night.
Earlier in the cabinet meeting, Corona Commissioner Prof. Nachman Ash said that during the months of December-January, 1,701 virus-infected people entered Israel, resulting in the infection of 2,683 Israelis - that is, a total of 4,384 patients associated with returnees from abroad. Ash recommended that the isolation in the hotels be restored. At the same time, the number of people entering Ben Gurion Airport per day was limited to only 200.
Prof. Ash also presented to the ministers that the British variant is currently responsible for 80% of the illness in Israel.
Prof. Ash also presented that after two and two weeks from the beginning of the relief, a slight increase in the infection coefficient is now identified, which currently stands at 0.86.
The Prime Minister referred to the non-extension of the restriction by the Knesset: "This is a scandal. There is no other word for this irresponsibility. I raise it because there is no rational justification for this. We have reduced the numbers, there is no choice. Mutations cannot come here. It is not possible. We will end the meeting here and immediately hold a conversation.
