Venezuela has expressed its rejection of the new measures imposed by the European Union on 19 Venezuelans, including high-ranking personalities, judges and representatives of public authorities, and affirmed that they fall within the "list of unilateral coercive measures against the country."
"Venezuela strongly rejects the European Union’s Foreign Affairs Council’s decision to impose coercive measures against 19 officials in the country,” Telesur, which broadcasts from Caracas, quoted the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry as saying in an official statement.
The statement added, "These anomalous decisions also reveal the inability of the European bloc to respond to the will of the Venezuelan people, respect and accept it, while revealing once again the outdated intervention policy towards Venezuela," stressing that it is "an expression of the European Union's frustration with the failure of its aggression against our people."
Venezuela reiterated its call on the European Union to stop its systematic aggression and to abandon the remnants of neo-colonialism. It also called for a deep correction within European governments that would allow the establishment of new relations of mutual respect to rebuild trust.
Venezuela is being exposed to American and Western interference in its internal affairs aimed at destabilizing it, in a desperate attempt by Washington to revive its plans to dominate this country that has huge oil wealth and to turn against its legitimate president, Nicolas Maduro, using all means, including violence, chaos and imposing sanctions.
