The sentence of Yosef Cohen, who ran over IDF officer Rodrigo Rostsky, his wife and daughter to death in his truck, will be sentenced today. • The prosecutor's office demands a sentence of 4 years in prison.
This morning (Wednesday) the traffic court will sentence Yosef Cohen, who is accused of causing death by negligent driving of Air Force officer Rodrigo Rostsky (34), his wife Sophie (28), and their two-month-old son Itai.
At the arguments stage for the sentence, the prosecution requested that he be sentenced to 4 years in prison.

The serious accident occurred in July 2019 on Road 7 near Gedera.
The truck in which Cohen was driving collided with the Rostsky family's private vehicle, which was parked on the side of the road.
The mother and baby were killed on the spot, Father Rodrigo, a technical officer in the Air Force Squadron, was seriously injured and died at the hospital after a week and a half.
His family members decided to donate his organs.
Another daughter, two and a half years old, was lightly injured and is the only survivor of the family.
Cohen was convicted of causing death by negligent driving and reckless driving in which a person was injured.
At the sentencing hearing, which took place three months ago, the prosecutor said in the case: "An entire family became extinct due to the driver's recklessness and negligence. Of the whole family, only the girl remained. Throughout her life she would have to deal with the loss. "In the vehicle of the deceased, which was standing on the side. It was noon with good visibility. The defendant crossed the curb for no justifiable reason, hit the guardrail and towed the family vehicle."
At the hearing then, Rodrigo's father and brother testified.
Father Mario said in tears: "I am asking the court to punish the offending driver - he has to pay."
Brother Marco said of the surviving girl: "This girl was robbed of the right and true way in which she should have grown up. How do you explain to her that her parents did not leave her? How do you explain to her what heaven is?"
Defendant Cohen said at the hearing: "I turn to the family - I know it will not bring back your loved ones. I wish I would go in their place. I see the pictures of the accident every day and think of the girl who survived. I express regret. I go to bed with it at night and get up with "This morning. I deserve punishment, I made a mistake. It was not intentional. Unfortunately, accidents happen and happen. I ask the court to consider me, because my life was also destroyed."
