Al-Jaafari to an Iraqi delegation: The relations between the two countries are deep-rooted, and integration between them is fateful

Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, discussed today with Counselor Yassin Sharif Al-Hajimi, Chargé d'Affairs of the Iraqi Embassy in Damascus, and the accompanying delegation from the Federation of Chambers of Commerce headed by Abdul Razzaq Al-Zuhairi, President of the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce, the latest developments in the political situation in Syria and Iraq.

The two sides also discussed during the meeting the follow-up to strengthening bilateral economic and commercial cooperation at the governmental and private levels, especially in terms of securing the necessary and necessary needs of the peoples of the two brotherly countries.

The Deputy Minister pointed out that relations between Syria and Iraq are fraternal and rooted throughout history, indicating that the complementarity between the two countries is a fateful issue, and that when Iraq is healthy and healthy it will be a substitute for Syria and vice versa.

Al-Jaafari stressed the determination to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the interest of their peoples, pointing to the importance of the meeting that brought the guest delegation together with the members of the Syrian Chamber of Commerce with the aim of strengthening bilateral trade relations and overcoming difficulties.

In turn, Al-Hujaimi emphasized the depth of relations between the two brotherly countries and the importance of the Syrian commercial and medicinal product for the Iraqi people due to its high technology in manufacture, distinguished craftsmanship and good reputation in addition to its low price and the ability of the Iraqi citizen to acquire it.

For his part, Al-Zuhairi said that the relations between the chambers of commerce in the two countries are long-standing and solid, recalling the position of Syria in general and the chambers of commerce in particular and its important role in breaking the economic blockade that was imposed on the Iraqi people in 1998.

Al-Zuhairi expressed his keenness to develop cooperation and increase the trade balance between the two countries, especially since they have commodities that complement each other.

On the Syrian side, the meeting was attended by Ziad Zahr Al-Din, Director of the Arab World Department, Wurif Al-Halabi, Director of the Media Department, Jaber Shamout, Director of the Deputy Minister’s Office, Yazan Ibrahim, from the Deputy Minister’s office, and from the Iraqi side, a number of heads of chambers of commerce in Iraq.
