CHRONIC. Officially, the presidential election of 2022 is not in the head of Emmanuel Macron. But the signals don't deceive ...

It is not yet time for boxes, but for cogitation.

Because, from the corridors of government to the aisles of the Assembly, one word, without being topical, has already crept into the heads of the majority: reshuffle.

It is a heavyweight of the LREM group which reflects by wondering if Jean Castex, whose image is very linked to the health crisis, will be able to "embody the necessary rebound" before the presidential election of next year.

These are ministers who bet on a change in September, after the regional ones.

“At 7 months before the election, a combat team will be needed,” said one.

"Some of us will then leave the government to go to the front, on the ground," said another.

So many reflections that contradict, if necessary, the official speech according to which the majority, monopolized by the Covid, would not have time to think about 2022.

More concretely, the government and Emmanuel Macron are currently testing new forms of communication to reach a larger and younger audience (exchanges with YouTubers, Instagram, the Twitch platform, etc.).

LREM tries to put itself in order of battle.

The boss, Stanislas Guerini, wants in particular to make regional "a rehearsal of what the 2022 campaign will be" in terms of organization and militant mobilization.

The Marcheurs will move before the summer and will have a more functional seat in the 8th district in Paris.

In December, Emmanuel Macron had left a doubt.

"Maybe I will not be able to be a candidate", he had blurted at the microphone of Brut.

"He is capable of everything, except renunciation," smiles a faithful who does not believe anything.

And indeed, the signs do not deceive.
