The government of the questioned president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, declared the head of mission of the European Union in the country, Isabel Brillhante, "persona non grata" and gave her 73 hours to leave him.
The Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza, explained that the reason is his rejection of the sanctions imposed by the bloc against citizens of the country.
The European Union's external services spokeswoman, Nabila Massrali, regretted the decision and called for its reversal.
