(CNN Spanish) -
A group of former officials of the Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this Tuesday through a statement that the current head has fired more than 90% of the professionals who worked in Foreign Relations.
In the statement, Foreign Minister Rogelio Mayta is accused of firing career diplomats after taking office.
The group of dismissed professionals described the incident as a "white massacre."
"It is an unprecedented event in the diplomatic history of Bolivia, the dismissal reaches 90% of the professionals of the Foreign Relations service," said Javier Viscarra, one of those affected, at the press conference held at the headquarters of the Permanent Assembly of Human Rights of Bolivia.
Faced with the accusations in the statement, the Bolivian Foreign Ministry issued a note stating that the administration did not produce a "white massacre" and indicated that it is working on the "recomposition of the Democratic State."
