This Wednesday, the Sanitary Regulation Agency (ARSA) of Honduras reported that it authorized the emergency use of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine against covid-19 in the country.
ARSA detailed in a statement that the authorization was given in a resolution dated February 19 and noted that this was required as one of the measures to control the coronavirus pandemic.
«The Honduran population can rest assured that this decision is based taking into consideration the authorizations for emergency use issued by the regulatory authorities of regional reference such as: the Federal Commission for Protection Against Sanitary Risks (COFEPRIS) of Mexico , the National Administration of Medicines, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) of Argentina, Academic and Ethical Opinion of the National Autonomous University of Honduras, "said ARSA in the statement.
Honduras has reported a total of 166,547 positive cases of covid-19 and 4,040 deaths related to the disease until Tuesday.
