Today, the Italian Ministry of Health announced the registration of 16,424 new infections and 318 new deaths from the Coronavirus.

The Italian news agency AKI quoted the ministry as saying that the total number of injuries in the country amounted to two million 848,564 injuries, while the total deaths rose to 96,666 deaths.

In turn, Italian Health Minister Roberto Speranza announced that among the strategic goals to address the Coronavirus pandemic is to complete the first phase of the vaccination campaign as soon as possible to secure all social and health workers, elderly care home residents and citizens over the age of 80 years because they are among the most vulnerable groups to the epidemic and that I paid the highest price in terms of human lives in the first and second waves of the pandemic, considering that vaccinating them means saving their lives.

Speranza added that the priority now is for particularly vulnerable groups suffering from one or more chronic diseases, noting that reservations and vaccinations are coming first for school workers and it is a priority to secure them and encourage direct teaching to students instead of distance education.

Commenting on the calls of some parties to ease the restrictive measures, Speranza said that the emergence of the British strain of Corona virus in the country, there are no epidemiological conditions to reduce the control measures, as we are at the last mile and we cannot fail to warn us.
