Anyone who has symptoms can be tested for corona.

Many used the fever clinic in Wolfratshausen.

It will be closed soon because more people are being vaccinated.

Wolfratshausen - District Administrator Josef Niedermaier expects a "vaccine tsunami".

For this reason, more rooms are needed in the Wolfratshauser vaccination center on Gebhardtstraße - therefore the infectious disease clinic in the district clinic closes on March 5th.

Here people with corona symptoms were tested for the virus.

When weighing both facilities with a view to fighting the pandemic, "priority was given to the vaccination center," explains the district office's press spokeswoman, Marlis Peischer, when our newspaper asked.

The infectious disease clinic, also known as the fever clinic, currently takes swabs from ten to 20 patients every day.

Anyone who wants or has to be tested for Corona in the district in the future has various alternatives: According to Peischer, people who have corona symptoms are generally examined and treated in the doctor's office.

"The test center in Bad Tölz is available for everyone else," says the spokeswoman for the authorities.

This includes people "who are ordered to take smears for reasons of infection control by the health department, or smears that are required for certain projects".

Individual medical practices would also offer this.

The medical team around Dr.

Jörg Lohse, who ran the infectious disease clinic in Loisachstadt, made another room available after the closure: “Basically, a type of continuation is being considered,” says Peischer.

Options are currently being discussed in the group of doctors who operate the infectious disease clinic.

"The infection situation in the district will ultimately also determine the pace of these considerations."

Problem: Vaccines and the sick met

In the eyes of many citizens, the location right next to the vaccination center was not ideal anyway: "In practice, it quickly became clear that there could be an overlap between vaccinees and patients suffering from cold symptoms in the stairwell," confirms Marlis Peischer.

The district office then installed a traffic light system to avoid encounters between these groups of people.

District Administrator Josef Niedermaier expects that more vaccinations can be given in Wolfratshausen in the future.
