Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed today that the most dangerous threat is terrorism and that the fight against it continues in Syria.

"The fight against terrorism, which represents the most serious and most dangerous threat, requires permanent preparedness and proactive operational measures," Sputnik news agency quoted Putin as saying during his meeting with Russian security agencies.

Putin indicated that the level of global challenges such as terrorism, cross-border crime and cybercrime “is not decreasing,” indicating that Russia thwarted, during the past year, the activities of 72 government employees on behalf of foreign security agencies on Russian soil and 423 foreign intelligence agents.

Putin stressed that issues of Russian state security and the protection of its citizens from internal and external threats will always remain the most important and priority for the Russian government, stressing the need to continue raising the level of protection of confidential information.

In this context, the Russian President instructed the Russian Federal Security Service to pay special attention to uncovering contacts between terrorists and foreign intelligence agencies, pointing out that terrorist networks are trying by any means to restore their activity, which dictates not only the necessity of identifying and eliminating terrorist cells, but also analyzing them and predicting the situation in general.

On the political level, the Russian President made it clear that some countries do not hide their unfriendly stance towards Russia and launch media campaigns against it based on a conspiracy theory.

He said, "They do not even try to hide their unfriendly stance towards Russia and a number of independent and sovereign global development centers, but the matter is far from such aggressive rhetoric, as it is represented in real practical actions by launching media campaigns against us on a number of issues that contain baseless accusations." to her".

Putin indicated that Russia is facing an aggressive policy aimed at curbing the country's development and placing it under foreign control.

Putin said, "We are facing the so-called policy of containing Russia and it is not related to competition, which is a natural thing in international relations, but it is related to a stable and extremely dangerous approach that aims to undermine development in our country, which provokes internal instability and undermines the values that unite Russian society."

Referring to the coercive measures targeting Russia, Putin said, "They are trying to shackle us with economic and other sanctions to obstruct large international projects that are not only in our interest, but also in the interest of our partners."

And Putin explained that the misleading media campaign against Russia uses all kinds of conspiracy theories and attempts to cast doubt, as happened recently with regard to Russian medical achievements in the field of combating Corona virus.

It is noteworthy that Russia announced last August that it had registered the first vaccine against the Corona virus in the world.
