Russia affirmed that Syria has the full right to hold presidential elections during the current year, as there are no provisions that may hinder this.
Russia Today TV quoted Russia's First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dmitry Polansky, as saying during a press conference held today: "We all have to help in organizing these elections ... this is our position."
