The Bergwacht Kochel rescued a hiker on Monday afternoon who had climbed in the Graseck-Sonnenspitz area.
The on-call manager Toni Geiger reports.
Kochel am See- The man, a 40-year-old from the Munich area, had set off from the Dorst car park with the aim of Sonnenspitz.
At first he took the hiking trail, but then he went up across the country.
That's why he got into extremely steep Schrofen terrain, where he could neither go forward nor back, according to Geiger.
A helicopter with a winch was used
The man made an emergency call to the control center, which in turn alerted the Bergwacht Kochel.
Five members went out and first made contact with the hiker.
When it was clear where he was exactly, the chief of operations requested a helicopter with a winch, reports the chief of operations.
The helicopter picked up two mountain guards at the rescue station and set them down near the hiker with the winch.
The rescuers climbed down to the man and secured him with rope and seat belt.
Then the hiker was rescued from the Schrofen area by the rescue helicopter with the winch.
Use in difficult terrain
Geiger reports on difficult terrain.
“It's very steep there, and the man was in a rock niche.” When the hiker was safe, the helicopter flew into the area again to pick up the two mountain guards again with the winch and bring them back into the valley.
The hiker was not injured and drove home on his own.
Bergwacht Kochel reports that the helicopter crew has experienced routine processes, even under corona conditions.
The mission was over after three hours.
