Caracas-Sana

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Jorge Ariasa, announced that his country decided to expel the European Union ambassador in Caracas and gave her 72 hours to leave the country in response to the new coercive measures imposed by the Union on a number of Venezuelan officials.

Ariasa told reporters in Caracas today: "With a decision by President Nicolas Maduro, we handed over to the European Union Ambassador Isabel Brillante a declaration that he considers an undesirable person ... and she gave 72 hours to leave the Venezuelan territory."

The Venezuelan National Assembly had approved, during its earlier session, a text rejecting the new European coercive measures and urging the president of the country to declare the head of the European Union mission in Caracas a persona non grata in Venezuela, and the text approved by the representatives unanimously calls for a review of the agreement related to the presence of a European diplomatic mission in Venezuela. Caracas.

Yesterday, the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its rejection of the new measures imposed by the European Union on 19 Venezuelan citizens, including high-ranking personalities, judges and representatives of public authorities, and stressed that they fall within the "list of unilateral coercive measures against the country."

Venezuela is exposed to American and Western interference in its internal affairs aimed at destabilizing it, in a desperate attempt by Washington to revive its plans to dominate this country that has huge oil wealth and to turn against its legitimate president, Nicolas Maduro, using all means, including violence, chaos and imposing sanctions.
