The café in "Gleis 1" is getting a new host.
The youth center has separated from the previous one.
For a reason.
Unterschleißheim
- The youth center Gleis 1 in Unterschleißheim has separated from the host of the "ess eins".
In future, no commercial café will be operated in the youth center.
"We are making the café a youth café again," explained head Markus Baier to the social committee on Tuesday.
From now on, educational staff with basic gastronomic knowledge will be at the counter.
When the young people come into the house and order a Coke, it's easy to get in touch, explained Baier.
A half-day position is advertised, there are no additional costs for the city.
A kitchen team should support the teachers on such days so that larger events can be catered for.
The committee approved the newly drawn up contract between the city and the district youth council with a score of 8: 3.
"Even people with a small budget are welcome"
Since the youth culture center was founded, between 2000 and 2020, four independent landlords have taken care of the café and renting out the event hall to external parties.
There have always been disagreements between café owners and educators, according to the city.
It is important to the team in platform 1 that the young people on their way into the house meet a socio-educational specialist with whom they can start a conversation.
"We had to recapture the café for the youth," said Baier and, when asked by Heidi Kurz (FB), said: If the house opened at 2 p.m. and adults sat at lunch until 3 or 3:30 p.m., they would not have dared come in.
Rooms can now be rented at staggered prices.
“It can also be used without a caterer,” said Baier, “people with a small budget are also welcome who bring their own food.” The youth center now regulates fees, deadlines and occupancy rights itself.
