The info has just fallen.
And this is good news for Kevin Escoffier, the castaway of the last Vendée Globe saved by Jean Le Cam.
He was chosen by Team Banque Populaire as co-skipper of Armel Le Cléac'h, winner of the Vendée Globe 2016-1017, to compete in the Transat Jacques Vabre which will start on November 7.
This double-handed race between Le Havre and Fort de France will see the brand new Ultim Banque Populaire XI trimaran in action, scheduled for launch next April, with an ambitious and vengeful tandem on board.
"We have decided to take up this challenge with the sailor who seems to us the most appropriate to be in line with our ambition", explained Armel Le Cléac'h.
Kevin Escoffier was delighted: “I am very happy to be part of this project.
As a sailing enthusiast and performance enthusiast, it's a chance to take part ”.
The native Malouin is returning to his roots within the Banque Populaire team, which he worked with for nearly twelve years.
