The people of the village of Shanan in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor demonstrated against the practices of the (Qasd) militia supported by the American occupation forces, condemning the militia’s stealing of the oil resources in the Syrian Jazira and the continuing kidnapping of young men to force them to fight in its ranks.
Local sources reported to SANA's correspondent that it was a protest against the crimes of the (Qasd) militia in its areas of control and its continuing the theft of the region’s resources and wealth, dozens of people from the village of Al-Shanan in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor gathered to demand an end to the militia’s crimes against the people, the abduction of young men, especially teachers, and the forcible return of those who were forced by the militia to fight. The demonstrators who blocked the main roads amid a general strike and the closure of shops called for an end to the practices of the (Qasd) militia, its confiscation of the livelihood and property of the people, and the theft and smuggling of oil.
