Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, discussed in a phone call with Muhammad Javad Zarif, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to upgrade and strengthen them in all fields, especially in the field of economic cooperation to overcome the inhuman effects of the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed illegally on my people. The two sides reaffirmed the need for Western parties and their tools to adhere to what came In the Security Council resolutions related to Syria and the final statement of the Astana meetings, the necessity of respecting Syria's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity and stopping any support provided to armed terrorist organizations.

The two ministers also discussed developments in the work of the Constitution Debate Committee and the results of the last round of the committee that was held in Geneva, where views were identical on the need to support the work of the committee under the leadership and ownership of Syria and in accordance with the agreed rules of procedures without any external interference or agendas and timetables imposed from outside.

Minister Al-Miqdad affirmed Syria's strong and steadfast support for Iran's positions regarding the continued violation of the nuclear agreement with Iran by some Western countries, as well as the continued refusal of the American administration in practice to back down from the previous administration's decisions to exit the agreement and the violation of the Security Council resolution that ratified the Joint Comprehensive Work Agreement, stressing that the Islamic Republic Iran has once again proven its credibility in the face of Western attempts to distort the facts.

Minister Al-Miqdad expressed the Syrian Arab Republic's thanks and appreciation to the Islamic Republic of Iran for its support to the Syrian people in various fields, especially in the economic field, to mitigate the effects of unilateral coercive economic measures aimed at the steadfastness of the Syrian people. In this regard, the two sides emphasized the importance of overcoming obstacles facing any form. Economic cooperation between the two countries in a way that improves the relations between them in various economic sectors, in a way that strengthens the elements of the two peoples' confrontation with the multi-form economic terrorism practiced by Western countries and the United States of America against them.

For his part, Minister Zarif expressed Iran's thanks and appreciation for Syria's supportive stance to his country with regard to the nuclear agreement and its demand to end the economic blockade on the Islamic Republic of Iran, stressing Iran's insistence on the necessity for everyone to abide by the agreements signed in this regard without any conditions. Minister Zarif also affirmed his country's satisfaction with the level reached by relations between The two countries in different fields.

Minister Zarif also affirmed that Iran will continue to support Syria in all fields, especially in the field of combating terrorism, to restore security and stability on all Syrian lands and to achieve a solution that preserves the interests of the Syrian people and the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the country.

The two sides agreed to stay in constant contact and strengthen consultations between them on all regional and international issues.
