Foreign workers cannot issue a green label on the Ministry of Health website, even though they have been vaccinated against the corona virus.

Although the firm's website recently added the option of identifying with a passport number and not just with an ID number for the purpose of issuing the character, error and malfunction messages are displayed in attempts to issue the character.

In addition, for those who do not have a valid passport, such as asylum seekers, it is currently not possible to identify themselves using a visa number on the website in order to issue a green card.

The green sign allows at this stage to enter cultural events, gyms, hotels, synagogues and later is also expected to allow entry to additional leisure places that will open soon.

The website of the Home Front Command Office states that the green badge will also be given to foreign workers, foreign residents, tourists and people who are not insured with a health fund, provided that they meet the requirements for issuing the badge.

There are about 55,000 foreign workers living in Israel who work in the field of nursing.

These workers were allowed to be vaccinated early in the vaccination campaign because they were working with a population at risk and were therefore supposed to be able to issue the mark.

Unlike their patients, however, this is not yet possible, so they are prevented from entering places that require the entry of the character.

This prevents them from accompanying patients who need close assistance.

Adi Malul, who suffers from muscular dystrophy, said she wanted to issue a green card for herself and her caregiver Marie.

But while she herself managed to issue the note, on the Ministry of Health website it could not have been issued for Marie either.

"I went all the way to the health minister's office, I talked to them there, before I also talked to representatives from the health ministry. Some said at first that she would get a few more days and that it would take some time. In other calls they said she would not and would present corona tests," she said.

According to her, only after a few inquiries was the website added to the possibility of identifying with a passport number, but that did not help either.

Malul tried several times to issue the note with Marie's passport number, but the message appeared on the screen that "something went wrong. Worth trying again in a few minutes."

Further attempts were also unsuccessful.

"I can not go anywhere without her. And I want to book a hotel and I can not book because of it," she claimed.

"I really do not understand it. If I now have to go somewhere and just ask for a green passport, no matter if it's a show or something else, what do I do, how do I go? Luckily the mall at least does not ask."

Eli, who suffers from cerebral palsy and has been assisted by a caregiver for many years, encounters a similar problem.

"She and I were vaccinated at the time, and I received the green card and a vaccination certificate and for some reason the caregiver does not receive it. I tried to contact the Ministry of Health, and constantly pass the pill to each other, between the HMO and the Ministry of Health.

The message he received stated that the number entered was "not linked to the immunization certificate in the databases of the Ministry of Health."

Eli noted that he and his partner want to go on vacation at a hotel and he needs close supervision from the caregiver, but to enter is required to present a green note.

"During the Corona period, all people with disabilities did not leave the house, and now that they have started opening the hotels, we want to go on vacation and not give us this certificate. Today I was only able to issue a certificate that was vaccinated, but it is not a vaccine certificate "Without a certificate with a barcode, it is impossible to enter," he said.

The chairman of the Israel Accessibility Association, Yuval Wagner, said that he also failed to issue a note to his vaccinated foreign escorts and that he received inquiries from other people with disabilities on the subject. "If I want to go and they accompany me to a show or other public place that now requires the note Green, I'm stuck now.

It's like putting a step in front of access to a place open to the green sign, "he said.

" It's again the phenomenon of actually constantly talking about the slogan 'do not leave us behind', in the context of statements about accessibility and equality, but always in the result test it does not happen.

And here's an example of someone who probably decided it's not a high priority to enter this data.

In fact, it stabs us in terms of returning to routine even after we have been vaccinated, "he added.

Ministry of Health: An outline for the treatment of these populations will soon be formulated

The Ministry of Health said in a response that "special populations, including foreign workers, those without status, those without health funds and more, cannot currently issue a vaccine certificate. In the coming days, an outline will be formulated to treat these populations, and then they will also be able to issue."
