Israel donates vaccines to Honduras and Guatemala 1:53
(CNN Spanish) -
This Thursday 5,000 vaccines against covid-19 will arrive in Guatemala that, according to the Foreign Minister of this country, Pedro Brolo, Israel donated and correspond to those manufactured by the Moderna laboratory.
Brolo assures that these doses will serve to immunize health personnel, who treat patients with covid-19 on the first line.
At the moment the authorities did not give details on when the vaccination plan will begin.
Regarding the Russian vaccine Sputntik V, the Minister of Health, Amelia Flores, said this Wednesday at a press conference that there are two scenarios.
One of them is that by March millions of doses would be arriving in the country and the other is that there would be a donation processed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“We have committed to the purchase of four million doses.
They offered us the first delivery of the vaccine two weeks from this Monday, the week we are currently in, so we would wait for the second week of March to be vaccinating with the Sputnik vaccine, "said Flores.
