A thrilling car accident occurred in Hung Hom.
At about 2 in the morning, it was reported that an engineering truck suddenly lost control when it turned into Xinxing Street along Fo Guang Street and crashed into the safety island on the road. It swept down a number of iron bars, knocked down traffic lights and then crossed the opposite line, heading on. After smashing one taxi, the fronts of both cars were damaged.
During the accident, one of the iron bars about 1 foot wide and 3 feet long flew off and penetrated the windshield commonly known as the "big screen" in front of the taxi driver's seat, and then lay sideways on the driver's seat and the front passenger seat.
Fortunately, the taxi driver was not hit, but he was trapped in the car and had to be rescued by the fire department.
It is understood that the taxi driver and the male passenger of the truck were both injured and they were taken to hospital by ambulance.
The police are investigating the incident.
