Dorfen

- The Dorfen artificial trap defies the corona crisis.

No contact or not - the members of the theater club still meet regularly.

And that online.

The mimes have made a virtue out of necessity and read a play together every 14 days - on the screen.

"After the inevitable pandemic-related cancellation of the 2020 season, we were looking for a solution to keep the theater and our club life alive despite all the restrictions," says Chairman Gerhard Adams.

It was game director Markus Huebner who had the brilliant idea many months ago.

At that time he said to the active members: "We have a large pool of delightful works on our to-do list, let's read the pieces with the zoom and have an effect on us!"

No sooner said than done: Twice a month, the relevant roles are assigned and then read together.

Just reading would be too boring for amateur actors.

"We are making the online meeting deliberately as a lively reading sample," continues Hübner.

Only then does the piece really become tangible.

"The piece's potential has to fit our group," explains Adams.

The participants work out their roles independently in advance.

There are no limits for your creativity.

Each participant then secretly gives their assessment of the piece in the form of a grade.

And then there is a lively discussion.

Some pieces stood out well in the lively reading sample, others failed.

In any case, the artificial trap is well prepared for the future.

For some pieces, the Dorfen mimes itches to bring the lyrics to the stage and rehearse a staging.

The actors hope to be able to act together again soon - in person.

“Theater is emotion, and especially at this time we miss rehearsals and our audience,” says Adams.

He hopes that the Kunstfalle will be able to catch up on Thornton Wilder's staging of “Our Little City” planned for 2020 in November.

Performance in the Jakobmayer

Dates for “Our little town” in Jakobmayer Dorfen are on Friday, 5th, Saturday, 6th and Sunday, 21st November.
