Sew almost from birth
"All my life I was engaged in sewing. Already when I left the army I entered the factory and when the factory closed I started my own business and continued to work as a clothing manufacturer, it was in 1969," says Daniel.
"Alan Daniel Curtains and Upholstery Design" was founded by Daniel and his wife - Allen in 1985, from this year they started producing curtains.
Over the years, the business has moved from place to place and is now located in Talpiot, at 37 Pierre King Street. The
work at the place is very extensive.
Daniel Wallen, who studied sewing and also began her career in clothing design, is responsible for the entire field of curtains - from sewing them to matching customers, recently introduced their son Snir to the business with a desire to pass the baton to him in the future.
The two say they make curtains for designers to order.
Among their many clients can be found private individuals as well as institutions like schools, who come by word of mouth.

The best fabrics in the country
Daniel is very proud of the fact that all the sewing and upholstery work is done on site.

Also, Daniel says that their fabrics are the best in the country.
Among the manufacturers from which the fabrics are purchased, Daniel mentions: Ranby, Schechter, Elite and Aerotex.
"All the fabrics from Europe and the sewing are very high quality. People know that the work is of a good standard and that the price is affordable because the upholstery and curtains last a long time - as our ancestors once owned a living room for many years."
Daniel says that today he receives orders from grandchildren of people who received service from him years ago, but of course even though the business is old, the fabrics are always renewed.
