Invited on BFM TV this Thursday, Jérémie Bréaud tells.
“
Yesterday, around 5:30 pm, with a deputy and my chief of staff, we went to the house in Parilly to meet the local players strongly committed to the integration, employment and training of young people.
An hour later, a resident of the neighborhood warned us that there was a car that was being dismantled in the parking lot next door.
We immediately understood that it had to be ours.
"
“
The car was rutted and there was a group of about ten people who were there when we arrived to park.
They started insulting us, threatening us physically and throwing projectiles at us
, ”he added.
"
It was an extremely anxiety-provoking climate
".
“
Without the presence at our side of these recognized actors of the territory, the situation could have been dramatic.
"
Threats since last October
This is not the first time that the mayor of Bron has been the victim of threats.
Last October and January, tags were found on the fence of a construction site in his town, threatening him with beheading.
Actions which had led the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, to offer protection to the elected when, less than a week before, the history professor Samuel Paty had been assassinated in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine.
A firm fight against delinquency
Elected last June, Jérémie Bréaud fights firmly against delinquency and drug trafficking.
This aggression "
shows that all the measures we have taken are still in the way,
" he said on BFM TV.
In addition, at the beginning of the week, he also co-signed a platform in our columns, entitled "Threatening a mayor is threatening the Republic"
“The Republic and the values of France are in danger.
"
Jérémie Bréaud, Mayor of Bron
"
Tonight's event is serious, but we will continue our dialogue with those who want to get out of it and honestly succeed
", underlined the elected Wednesday, specifying all the same that this situation only concerned one "
very small minority of individuals
”.
Finally, the mayor of Bron asked "
those who, for electoral purposes, add fuel to the fire by saying that I do not want to marry certain people because of their religion or that I want to arm the Municipal Police to shoot young people '
to be silent.
“
I encourage all elected officials who are victims of insults or attacks to say so and no longer hide them out of political calculation.
The Republic and the values of France are in danger.
"
The elected representative will not retreat "in the
face of these people who flout the values of France
".
