Syria's permanent representative to the United Nations, Bassam Sabbagh, affirmed that Syria's cooperation and the facilities it provided have contributed to achieving tangible achievements in the humanitarian situation despite the challenges of combating terrorism and the negative effects of coercive measures and acts of aggression and occupation.
Sabbagh indicated during a session of the Security Council via video that the politicization of humanitarian issues in Syria has led to an increase in human suffering, and the reports submitted to the Council allowed some countries to use them to divert attention from the objective handling of the factors causing the deterioration of the humanitarian situation.
Sabbagh said that any briefings or reports submitted to the Security Council remain short and tainted with grave flaws as long as they continue to ignore the crimes committed by terrorist organizations in Syria.
Sabbagh emphasized that the coercive measures prevent the Syrians from obtaining their basic living needs and represent a grave violation of international law and collective punishment of its people with the approval of the United Nations itself.
Sabbagh said that the Turkish regime continues to Turkify the areas it occupies in Syria and provide protection to terrorist organizations to seize property and plunder the oil fields and agricultural crops.
