What does the Oberammergau fire brigade need in order to optimally fulfill its tasks?
A precise demand plan will soon answer this question.
One thing is clear: there is a need for action.
Oberammergau
- she is there 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
In the event of fires, floods, accidents and many other emergencies.
The Oberammergau volunteer fire brigade helps where help is needed.
But that only works if everything is in order in the background.
If there is enough staff and the technical equipment meets current standards.
The church has a duty.
She has to make sure that the comrades can do their jobs.
In order to find out what the weir needs for this, a requirements plan should now be drawn up.
For the first time in such a comprehensive format.
The council made the decision without a murmur.
Oberammergau Fire Brigade: Considerable investments are to be expected
The municipality is not the first to be confronted with the issue.
Such a concept is already in place in Murnau, for example.
It shows how to get from the actual to the target situation.
The Oberammergau community took advice and spoke to the commanders.
The opinion was clear, as Vice-Mayor Eugen Huber reported (a sense of proportion): It is strongly recommended that such a plan be drawn up.
Especially since there is a need for action.
The shoe pinches.
In all likelihood, considerable investments will be made in the current or alternatively in a new location for the fire department.
It is still too early to state exact costs.
But Huber spoke of "several million euros".
A huge chunk of money for a place with a tight cash register.
It was not without reason that the topic was last mentioned during discussions on the budget or Wellenberg.
"It is important," Huber emphasized, "that we get involved in this period so that we can get at least a little further."
External engineering office should create a requirement plan - in cooperation with the project group
Due to the size of the project, the town hall administration suggested hiring an external engineering office.
In addition, there should be a working project group consisting of representatives of the armed forces, the district fire council, the administration and members of the municipal council - one mandate holder per parliamentary group.
"We need a platform to coordinate ourselves," said Huber.
It is necessary to involve politics.
Finally, the plan represents the municipal council's declaration of intent for the development of the fire brigade in the next five years. Also means: It serves as a basis for decision-making for future investments in budget planning and, in the case of Oberammergau, as a basis for the location analysis and dimensioning of the tool shed.
Barbara Cunradi-Rutz (Bunte Liste) asked why the municipality would like to turn on an office - the engineering services for the plan and the location analysis are expected to cost 12,000 to 15,000 euros.
The Vice-Mayor immediately fired his main argument: because of the investment amount.
“There's no getting around it,” he emphasized.
“An external office brings objective results.” Without their well-founded expert opinion, it is difficult to decide on so much money.
Ludwig Utschneider (PWG) followed suit.
“It doesn't do any harm,” he said, “if someone takes a look from outside.”
Construction of the fire station could be an issue
Monika Kasseckert-Müksch (CSU) threw another question in the hall of the Ammergau house.
She wanted to know how closely the municipality has to adhere to the concept.
Using a specific example: “What happens if it comes out that the fire brigade house no longer works?” Huber, who represented Mayor Andreas Rödl (CSU) that evening, had an answer ready, too: The community is basically bound by the plan .
But: “Nobody can force us to build a new house next year.” It depends on what the place can do financially.
Choosing the plan was the first step.
Now it's a matter of finding an office, getting in touch with the experts and concluding a contract.
This should happen in advance without an invitation to tender, said town hall manager Christian Ostler.
“We don't want to call randomly.” The administration already has a favorite in view.
And Oberammergau will be there for a long time.
The planning, Ostler made clear, “will accompany us during this period”.
