Remains of tar were discovered today (Thursday) in the Hof Galim nature reserve in Atlit.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection estimates that the source of the remains is the huge leak of oil and tar that led to the pollution of many beaches in Israel and Lebanon.
At the same time, efforts are continuing to clean the beaches of tar, which has harmed hundreds of animals on the beaches.
During the day, volunteers from the hospitals of Bnei Zion, Poria, the Western Galilee Medical Center and Rambam, as well as employees of the British Embassy in Israel came to the beaches to clean them.
