Dar Al-Assad for Culture in Lattakia hosted this evening the founding concert of the (Latakia for Syrian Music) band, with the aim of presenting and reviving the Syrian heritage and introducing the talents and creativity of Syrian musicians in composition, music and playing.

The concert, titled “Shagan”, comes in cooperation between the directorates of theaters, music and the culture of Lattakia. It presented a set of pieces written by Ramez Ghaniga, which included bayat download, Rast language, Hijaz Bayat, meditation, shagan, violin dance, Farah dance, Dabke breaks, sigh, Basma Amal, and the inspiration of the oud to establish the goal of establishing the band in Presenting Syrian art exclusively, ancient and modern, and introducing musical talents according to Ghanija.

Ghaniga, in a statement to SANA's correspondent, indicated that the band bore the name of Latakia Governorate, from which the world's first musical note was launched to confirm that Syrian music is one of the most important in the world and it is necessary to preserve and develop it and highlight our creators and their works that represent the Syrian identity and present it to the audience, pointing out that the band will devote a concert Each time, the works of a Syrian composer, with the introduction of muwashahat, quotes and roles, in addition to the music that belongs to the Syrian coast.

Ghaniga praised the musical talents in Lattakia Governorate, which witnessed a great interest and turnout from parents to teach their children music despite the terrorist war on Syria, noting that the band includes more than forty musicians and singers of young talents between the ages of 14 and the university level who need support to find their way. .

Ramiz Ghaniga is a composer and musician. He is the leader and founder of the Damascus Ensemble for Arab Music and the Orchestra of the Ramiz Ghaniga students in wartime. He is a member of the Ziryab Foundation for Artistic Training.
