Tiberias police have filed charges against three young men from the village of Rama in the Galilee who were documented beating a man and two boys from Tiberias, after they tried to overtake their car.

The "Honno" organization, which represents the assailants, claimed that the incident was due to a nationalist motive, but the findings of the investigation denied this.

Young people from Kfar Rama attack a man and two boys from Tiberias (without)

The Northern District Police filed an indictment in the Tiberias Magistrate's Court yesterday (Wednesday) against Issa Toma, and near Marina and Tamar Gazawi for violent offenses against a man and two boys from Tiberias, after they overtook their car.

In addition, the police prosecution requested that the defendants remain in custody until the end of the legal proceedings against them, due to their dangerousness.

After the arrest of the three assailants, the "Honno" organization, which represents the assailants, claimed that it was an attack on a nationalist background, but the police investigation denied this.

The details of the indictment filed by the prosecutor, Advocate Adv. Nechama Kosher, show that in a case that occurred in early February, a young man and two boys from Tiberias drove in the morning to the tomb of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai in Meron. The driver prevented them from overtaking his car.The two cars were stopped and the defendants started cursing and threatening the passengers of the other car, and later got out of their car, and the three in the other vehicle fled.

The defendants followed them to a gas station near Moshava Migdal, where the fleeing vehicle and its passengers got out.

The defendants also got out of their vehicle, and one of them pulled out a metal goddess from the trunk and hit the head of the driver who tried to overtake them.

The other two defendants actually joined the violence and beat the two boys with a punch and punch in front of them.

One of the defendants later tried to run over the attacked driver and it was hung on a fence to avoid hitting him.

When one of the attacked boys ran to the gas station employee and asked him to call police, the latter did not comply with his request.

Finally, the three assailants were evacuated to Poria Hospital for medical treatment.

Investigators from the Tiberias police who collected evidence and findings at the scene of the incident even conducted confrontations between the accused and the assailants during the investigation.

Defendant Thomas, who was previously convicted of violent assault and drug offenses, denied the suspicions against him and claims he was not present at all.

The other two defendants maintained their right to remain silent during their interrogation.

One of them, Marina, has previously been convicted of sexual offenses and extortion by threats.

The third defendant has no criminal record.

During the investigation, it did not appear that this was a nationalist background, as claimed by the "Honno" organization, which represents the assailants.

"Honno" said that "this is a shocking incident of an antisemitic assault and abuse mask and finally also an attempt to run over the complainants. We thank the police for the investigation and arrest of the suspects and on the other hand we demand to change the indictment by adding racist abuse "We believe that such a serious case should be handled by a district attorney's office and submitted to a district court."
