The 23-year-old journalist accuses Eric Zemmour of having said about him on November 30 on the Cnews channel: “

Mr. Bouhafs, who calls himself a journalist and who is in fact an activist (...).

You are not going to tell me that he is not an activist, an indigenous activist, an Islamist activist

”.

According to this complaint with the constitution of civil party filed Friday in Paris, to qualify Taha Bouhafs as an “

Islamist militant

” is not “

trivial

” in “

the current context

”.

"

These words can only refer to the wave of attacks committed in the weeks preceding the broadcast of the program

“Contentious, with attacks in Paris, Conflans-Sainte-Honorine and Nice, explains the complaint of the lawyer of Taha Bouhafs, Me Arié Alimi.

The complaint also targets an official at Cnews as director of publication for the channel's website.

In an opinion adopted in January, the Journalistic and Mediation Ethics Council (CDJM), independent from the State, criticized this sequence.

Eric Zemmour is a pillar of the CNews news channel.

He has been convicted several times by the courts, the last time for inciting racial hatred at the end of September.

In another case, he was also definitively sentenced to a 3000 euros fine for inciting religious hatred after anti-Muslim remarks made in 2016. As early as 2011, he had been sentenced for incitement to hatred, after having declared to television that "

most traffickers are black and Arab, that's how it is, it's a fact

".

He has been the subject of an investigation in Paris since early October for "

incitement to racial hatred

" and "

racist public insults

" after qualifying underage migrants as "

thieves

", "

murderers

" and "

rapists

" on Cnews .
