The Alling municipal council has passed a record budget for this year.

With income and expenses of around 19 million euros, the budget has a volume never before reached.

Alling - The main reason for this is the high expenditure for the new children's home on Antonistraße.

Despite some concerns from the Greens, the draft budget was finally adopted unanimously.

The new daycare center with a recently estimated community contribution of 5.2 million euros (including reserves for the unforeseen) also dominated a large part of the household speeches.

For Mayor Stefan Joachimsthaler (CSU), the project offers the unique opportunity to act with foresight instead of only reacting to higher numbers of children.

Financial advisor Thomas Muderlak presented a

for the CSU parliamentary group

to illustrate the converted cost of childcare.

It came to 3.27 euros per child and day for 60 years of use, about as much as for a coffee to take away.

Hans Schröder (Allinger Bürgerervereinigung / ABV) recalled that there had been controversies at the beginning of the planning, especially about the architecture of the new building.

But: "We support it because we are on the way." He spoke of an overall solid budget, but also mentioned "quite a rise in personnel expenses".

In order to secure the income in the future, more population growth and possibly also new commercial space are needed.

Anna Borawski-Utz (Greens) criticized the cost explosion at the children's home and the sealing of the area at the planned location in the center.

Actually, a new daycare center in the Biburg district with its future construction area is better off.

Hans Ludwig (Dorfgemeinschaft Biburg) spoke of financial planning with which “our hands are not tied for years”, but also warned against further straining the buffer of remaining reserves.

Simone Stenzer promised the Free Voters that the new children's home would become overpriced.

Ingrid Schilling (citizenship) asked not to forget supposedly trivialities such as the cycle path concept in view of the large projects.

Hubert Winkler (SPD) was certain that the corona consequences could also be overcome with a solid budget policy.

The first important tenders for the children's home had to be suspended - the offers from the companies were well above budget.

A working group of the local council has meanwhile thought about savings in the new building.

With a shallow basement, simpler electrical engineering, a slimmed-down kitchen and further reductions, a few hundred thousand euros could be avoided in costs.

Nevertheless, the daycare center remains the largest expense item, followed by the renovation of the town hall with around 1.2 million euros.

The municipality will take out a loan of 3.5 million euros for these projects this year; the reserves will shrink to only 600,000 euros, about a quarter of what has been saved so far.

At the same time, however, surpluses can still be generated from ongoing business, so that the creditworthiness of the municipality is beyond question.

When it comes to tax power per inhabitant, Alling is at the top in the district.
