The US National Intelligence Agency suggested that the Crown Prince of the Saudi regime, Muhammad bin Salman, personally approved the assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in 2018.
"According to our estimates, the Crown Prince of the Saudi regime, Mohammed bin Salman, approved an operation in Istanbul, Turkey, to arrest or kill journalist Jamal Khashoggi," Sputnik quoted a National Intelligence report.
The report indicated that Bin Salman considered Khashoggi a threat to the Kingdom and agreed to measures that would silence him. The American intelligence believes that an operation such as the assassination of Khashoggi could not have taken place without the approval of the Crown Prince given his influence and great influence on decision-making in the country.
It is noteworthy that the Saudi regime tried to bring down the curtain on the crime of killing the journalist Khashoggi and fold it forever by presenting five people as a scapegoat to calm international public opinion and reduce the intensity of international condemnations in exchange for the acquittal of its officials directly implicated in this crime. Three others were acquitted, while three others of his officials involved in the case were acquitted, for burial with minimal losses.
