Schliersee - This news will hurt many a soul: The mighty beech in the Schliersee lido, it has to be felled.
Not right away, but this autumn.
Mayor Franz Schnitzenbaumer has now announced this to the local council.

As reported, the magnificent specimen suffers from fungal attack.
Last autumn the community gardener had little hope that the tree could be preserved.
But Schnitzenbaumer (CSU) left no stone unturned and paid for further investigations from the community box.
The result is now available.
"She will bless the temporal," said the mayor in the local council.
Lido lovers still have one summer to say goodbye to the most distinctive tree in the complex.

"The boys from the lido take on the duty to maintain safety," Schnitzenbaumer continued.
It cannot be ruled out that branches might break off in strong winds.
Deadwood had already been removed.
European beeches live to be up to 300 years old, so the specimen in the lido will probably not be that old, according to the local council.
But for every living Schliersee and Schliersee guest, the following applies in any case: The lido did not exist without this tree.
This will be different in autumn.
