Occupied Jerusalem - SANA
The permanent representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, renewed his demand for the international community to take immediate action to stop the crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, provide protection for them, and implement international legitimacy resolutions, foremost of which is the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the line of June 4, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital.
In letters addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council and the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Mansour explained that the occupation authorities continue to demolish Palestinian homes and properties, forcibly displace them from their lands, and transfer hundreds of thousands of settlers to occupied Palestine in grave breach of the Fourth Geneva Convention and international law.
Mansour pointed out that the occupation forces dozens of Palestinian families in occupied Jerusalem to forcibly evacuate their homes and hand them over to Israeli settlers, pointing out that these systematic violations are part of the occupation’s plans to seize Palestinian lands and expand settlement operations to implement annexation plans.
Mansour indicated that the occupation forces carry out daily raids and arrest campaigns in cities and towns of the West Bank, noting that there are about 5,000 Palestinians suffering extremely difficult conditions in the occupation detention centers in violation of international humanitarian law, calling for the need to release all Palestinian prisoners.
Mansour pointed out that the occupation authorities continue to detain the bodies of hundreds of Palestinian martyrs in cemeteries they control to this day and the bodies of 70 martyrs in refrigerators, in clear violation of international laws and covenants, calling for an end to these illegal practices and returning the bodies of the martyrs to their families for burial.
