What happens next on the garden plot on Birkenstrasse?
This question worries the residents and accordingly many came to the meeting of the building committee, which dealt with the topic again.
28 residential houses are to be built on the property.
Many citizens took the opportunity to express their objections.
A lot of people are particularly concerned about the additional traffic.
An underground car park is currently planned, with entry and exit in Birkenstrasse.
"Why can't we straighten out the traffic and relocate the exit to Rotdornweg?" Asked Rosemarie Weber (SPD).
According to experts, a suitable access road for the fire brigade plays a role, and Birkenstrasse is more suitable for additional traffic.
Nevertheless, it should be checked again whether it is not possible to separate entry and exit.
24 of 80 trees are allowed to stay
What annoys many residents and especially the Greens: Of the 80 trees on the property, only 24 remain.
“We can't accept that,” said Rudi Schwab (Greens).
Especially since the local council decided unanimously that the trees should be largely preserved.
Mayor Ullrich Sander (non-party) referred to the opinion of the Lower Nature Conservation Authority and the Environment Agency.
"We can of course be smarter than the experts, but somewhere I have to make compromises when it comes to densification."
The residents can be satisfied with the plans.
Peter Hofbauer (Free Voters)
Schwab said that trees were also important and suggested reducing the number of buildings.
Peter Hofbauer (FW) vehemently rejected this.
“We are now below what would be possible in terms of development.” The maximum was achieved, “the residents can be more than satisfied”.
Any further reduction is no longer appropriate.
In the end, the committee agreed to examine whether more trees could be saved by arranging the buildings differently.
The plans are laid out again.
