Today, the Iraqi Ministry of Defense denied allegations by the Pentagon about "exchanging information" that preceded the American aggression on areas in Deir Ezzor near the Syrian-Iraqi border.
The Iraqi defense said in a statement today, carried by Alsumaria News, in response to statements by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, that it is "surprised by the statements of the US Secretary of Defense regarding the occurrence of an exchange of intelligence information with Iraq that had previously targeted some sites in Syrian territory."
The Iraqi Ministry added, "While we deny that this has happened, we confirm that our cooperation with the international coalition forces is limited to the specific goal of forming this coalition, which is to fight the terrorist organization" ISIS "and its threat to Iraq in a manner that preserves Iraq's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Syria condemned in the strongest terms the American aggression against areas in Deir Ezzor near the Syrian-Iraqi border yesterday evening and emphasized that it constitutes a negative indication of the policies of the new American administration, which are supposed to adhere to international legitimacy, not to the law of the jungle.
